Reiki I, II and Master Level Classes in Usui Reiki

Reiki is a Japanese word meaning universal energy - the energy that flows through all living beings. Reiki healing is a hands-on method of healing that helps to balance the energies within the body. It is based upon a 2,500 year old tradition. Practitioners learn to connect with and direct the flow of the universal life energy into the client. The class begins with an attunement (or initiation) where the student receives the energy that will be with them for their lifetime. The attunement creates the healer, it is not a healing session. Following the attunement, there is a 21 day cleansing period during which the students may encounter issues they need to address in their life. All students need to be aware that this can be a stressful and/or liberating experience. The experience is individual, designed by Spirit, according to the student's needs. An attunement and Certificate are issued at each level.

Reiki I Class

In the first level class we will address self-healing with Reiki and direct (hands on healing). We will discuss the emotional connection to disease and explore the chakra system. Ethical issues around the healing of others will be addressed. There will be extensive practice in learning the hand positions for self-healing, direct healing and group healing.

Reiki II Class

In this second level, participants will be attuned to the second level Reiki energy. Participants will learn the three second level symbols and how to use them, discuss working with spirit guides, and learn the Hui Yin breath. Working with the symbols intensifies the energy up to fourfold. , Participants will also learn to do absent healing, beaming energy across the room, and will participate in a group healing. There will be extensive time to practice healing on each other using the symbols. Reiki I is a pre-requisite for this class. Certificates will be issued in the Usui method of natural healing.

Reiki Master Class

In this master class the attunement process will be taught so that attunements can be passed on. You will also be taught the master symbols and will receive an attunement. You will learn to make and work with a Reiki Grid.  Ethical concerns as a Reiki Master/Teacher will be discussed.

Karuna™ Reiki Classes

The Karuna system of Reiki was developed by William Rand of the International Center for Reiki Training. Karuna is a Sanskrit word that means "compassionate action." The Karuna energy system also consists of symbols as does the Usui system. It is an advanced system of healing and can only be attended by those who are already a Reiki Master. There are two practitioner levels of Karuna and two master levels. All levels are offered in a two day weekend workshop.

The name Reiki derives from the Japanese pronunciation of two Japanese characters that describe the energy itself: '霊 rei' (meaning 'unseen' or 'spiritual') and 気 ki (Chinese qi, here meaning 'energy' or 'life force') In English, the meaning of Reiki is often given as 'universal life energy' (a translation used by Hawayo Takata, see History). The noun commonly refers to either the energy or the therapeutic method which uses the energy. Reiki is also used as a verb and an adjective. Japanese speakers use the term as a generic 'spiritual power' while the Usui Method of Reiki Healing is specifically Usui reiki shiki ryoho. Similarly, the practice is sometimes called Usui-do or Usui-no-michi ("the Way of Usui").
